“Finally, Playing Cards Fit For The Art Collector” Opening Ceremony

output_zvb28a[1]Since card games first appeared during Tang dynasty China, the ritual has been performed around a kitchen table: drinks in hand, AC on blast, and laughter abound.

But this year, LA-based contemporary artist Fawn Rogers wants to reinvent the notion of the card game and take it outdoors. Rogers’ latest installation titled SUBJECT, opening at the Museum of Art and History on February 13, invites viewers to watch super weeds grow from the soil under her resurfaced produce truck drive shafts.
